What's In My Spring Makeup Bag

Every season I like to change up my makeup bag to feature season-appropriate items and just in general give my makeup a bit of a refresh. I have a routine that I wanted to share with you.

First, I empty out the entire contents and give the inside of my makeup bag a nice wipe-down. Make sure you pick a bag that has a wipeable lining--like this luxe one from Louis Vuitton, although there are easily some favorite budget friendly options (see links down below!).

Next, I select the staples - eyeliner, foundation (my skin tone doesn't change much from season to season - it's just a perennial shade of pale), mascara.

Then I haul the blushes, lipsticks, and eyeshadows back to storage and spend an inappropriate amount of time swatching and selecting all of the lovely peaches and pastels for spring. I'm loving lighter tinted products on the lips, like tinted lip balms, as well as cheek stains, coconut face primer, shimmery gold-brick highlighter, and (oddly) full-coverage fond-cealer for my face.

Speaking of lovely Spring newness, Vaseline has released their Lip Therapy Tins in the U.S., and how cute is it that they sent me one with my name on it! I used to import the "Pink Champagne" limited edition tin from the U.K. many years ago - the formula is soooo good that I was willing to pay a premium to get it in my hands. Now, it's available everywhere! My personal favorite is the Rosy Lips for my makeup bag, and Aloe for my bedside table before bed.
